This season, the UCA football program is continuing a tradition it began several years ago, visiting the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock the day before each home game.
Each Friday preceding a Bears' game at First Security Field at Estes Stadium, a group of UCA student-athletes and coaches travels to the hospital – one of the largest pediatric medical centers in the nation – to meet the patients and spend time reading, playing games and visiting with the children over the course of the afternoon.
The Bears host Southland Conference foe Northwestern State tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Estes Stadium on Hall of Fame Weekend. The Bears will also make trips to ACH prior to the home games against Southeastern Louisiana on Oct. 30, Sam Houston State on Nov. 13 and McNeese State on Nov. 20 in the 2010 season finale.
