CONWAY, Ark. _ The University of Central Arkansas Bears grabbed two of the three Southland Conference weekly football awards on Monday.

Senior receiver/kick returner Isaiah Jackson was named the Special Teams Player of the Week while junior linebacker Seth Allison earned the Defensive Player of the Week award.

Jackson, the career kickoff return leader at UCA, returned four kicks for 174 yards, including a 91-yard touchdown, on Saturday in the Bears’ 38-28 victory over Stephen F. Austin. Jackson, from Conway, also caught 3 passes for 35 yards to give him 209 all-purpose yards for the game.

Allison, a junior from Stuttgart, finished with eight total tackles, including 7 solos, and returned his first interception of the season 34 yards for a touchdown that gave the Bears a 21-6 halftime lead over the Lumberjacks.

The awards are the second and third for the Bears this season. Junior wide receiver Jesse Grandy was named the Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 12.

UCA travels to Thibodaux, La., this weekend to face Nicholls State. Kickoff is 2 p.m. at Guidry Stadium.
