RYAN, LOWERY, LOUIS LEAD UCA IN INDOOR MEETS


 CONWAY, Ark. _ Two second-place individual performances led the University of Central Arkansas men's squad at the recent Arkansas State Kick-Off Klassic at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro.

Junior Connor Ryan finished second in the mile run in a time of 4:27.16. Junior Damarius Lowery also turned in a second-place finish in the 5,000 meters in a time of 15:51.96. UCA's 4x400 relay team (Kelton Ray, Powell Bryant, Dustie Smith, Chance Tanner) finished second in a time of 3:20.82.

Sophomore Anthony Faris-King had a pair of third-place finishes, in the long jump (6.72 meters) and the triple jump (13.48). Darrell Johnson finished fourth in the 400 meters (50.38), while Tevon Boyd was eighth (51.00). Chance Tanner was fifth in the 600 meters (1:23.78), followed by teammates Kelton Ray (1:24.78), Dustie Smith (1:25.68) and Nakita Higgins (1:27.39).

Emanuel Grady finished fifth (2:04.20) and Deonte Watson sixth (2:07.42) in the 800 meters, while Andrew Simpson was sixth in the 3,000 meters (9:17.49) and Grant Miller was eighth (9:23.97). Alex Miles finished fourth in the 55 meter hurdles (8.6) and seventh in the shot put (12.43 meters), while Mathew McDonald was fifth (8.65). Travis Nagle was also fourth in the high jump (1.78 meters).

Kenneth Stice was fourth (16:06.82) and Ben Stansell sixth (16:55.56) in the 5,000 meters. Trey Carter turned in a seventh-place finish in the 55 meters.

At the Birmingham Southern Panther Ice Breaker on Dec. 6, sophomore Corentin Louis finished second in the mile run (4:18.60), followed by Connor Ryan in third (4:21.90). Tanner was fifth in the 400 meters (48.98) and seventh in the 200 meters (22.22).

UCA's 4x400 relay team was second in a time of 3:20.60. Travis Nagle finished fifth in the pole vault  (4.15 meters), while Alex Miles was third in the long jump (6.59) and sixth in the high jump (1.85). Mathew McDonald was seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (9.42).
