CONWAY, Ark. _ Senior Tanesha Maxwell won the 200 meters and was second in the 55 meters at the recent Arkansas State Kick-Off Klassic at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro.
Maxwell, from Tampa, Fla., ran a 25.32 in the 200 to beat teammate Tyaniah Cash (25.88). Anilah Bashire was eighth (26.34). In the 55 meters, Maxwell ran a 7.09 for second place, while Cash was fourth in a time of 7.22.
Junior Jean-Neka Black won the 600 meters in a time of 1:37.36, followed by senior Jordan Chadwick (1:38.18). Sophomore Khakijah Smith finished third in the 400 meters (59.13) and sophomore Abbie Linna was fourth in the mile run (5:30.38). Bashir finished fourth in the 55 hurdles (8.33), while Black was seventh (8.46).
UCA's team of Maxwell, Cash, Maya Minter and Jasmine Johnson was second in the 4x400 relay (4:04.23). Minter was also second in the high jump (1.60 meters). Hadley Swanson finished third in the long jump (5.32 meters), while Sofia Ramirez-Maciel was seventh in the triple jump (10.63 meters).
Medley Hinman finished sixth in the weight throw (11.28 meters).
At the Birmingham Southern Panther Ice Breaker on Dec. 6, Maxwell had a fourth-place finish in the 60 meters (7.58), with Cash finishing sixth (7.72). Maxwell was also 10th in the 200 meters (25.32). Chadwick finished sixth in the 800 meters (2:20.21) while Black was fifth in the 60 meter hurdles (9.0).
UCA was seventh in the 4x400 (3:57.69). Swanson fnished fifth in the high jump (5.03) and 10th in the long jump (5.28). Ramirez-Maciel was also 10th in the triple jump (10.79).
