NASHVILLE _ The University of Central Arkansas men's cross country team finished ninth Saturday at the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic, while the UCA women were 14th at Vaughn's Gap at Percy Warner Park.

    Jonathan Burgess led the UCA men with a 14th-place finish in a time of 25:16.99 over the 8K course. Connor Ryan finished 60th in a time of 26:02.30, while Preston Borg was 65th (26:06.26). Josh Quiroga finished 79th (26:22.72), followed by Albert Maeder in 83rd (26:27.88).

    Brant Cook finished 85th (26:29.02), while Ryan Davidson was 93rd (26:39.03) and Grant Williams was 98th (26:47.97) to round out UCA's top 100 runners among the 240 finishers.

    On the women's side, Brigette Caruthers finished 76th in a time of 18:42.57 over the 5K course. Diana Moreno was 80th (18:46.29), followed by Madison Sewell in 119th (19:16.55), Abigal Topham in 131st (19:32.33), Lanye Sargussen in 159th (20:05.82) and Sophie Clauss in 160th (20:06.24). There were 260 finishers in the women's race.
