UCA TRACK COMPETES AT SFA MEET


    NACOGDOCHES, Texas _ The University of Central Arkansas women's track team recorded 14 Top performances last weekend at the SFA Skechers Carl Kight Invitational, while the men's squad had seven Top 5s.

    The UCA women, who had 27 finish in the Top 10, got a second-place performance from E'Lexus Garvin in the 100 meters (11.96) and a fourth place from Lauren Daniel (11.99). Jean Black finished fourth in the 100 meter hurdles (14.78), while Molly Sampson was fifth (15.22).

    Sophie Clauss was fourth in the 3,000 steeplechase (11:58.57) and the relay team of Tyaniah Cash, Garvin, Jasmine Richard and Daniel was third in the 4x100 (48.20). Sara Calhoun finished fourth in the pole vault (3.25 meters), while Jasmine Campbell was third in the long jump (5.31 meters) and Aysia Oliver was fifth (5.11).

    Oliver was also second in the triple jump (11.60 meters), while Campbell was third (11.53) and Sofia Ramirez-Maciel was fourth (11.31).

    On the men's side, Chance Tanner finished third in the 200 meters (21.32) and second in the 400 meters (47.47). Deonte Watson was fifth in the 800 meters (1:56.20), while James Lassiter was third in the 110 meter hurdlers (15.22). UCA's 4x100 relay team of Kelton Ray, Rashad Jones, Nakita Higgins and Jaylon Watson was fourth (42.45). 

    The 4x400 team of Ray, Trevon Boyd, Jeremiah Watson and Tanner was second (3:12.88). UCA's 'B' team of Daniel Lawson, Dustie Smith, Darrell Johnson and Aaron Hamilton was fifth (3:21.67).
