LITTLE ROCK, Ark. _ The University of Central Arkansas men's and women's cross country teams combined to win seven of eight head-to-head matchups Saturday at the Little Rock Invitational contested at Rebsamen Golf Course and scored as a dual meet.
The UCA women won all four of their head-to-head battles, beating Arkansas-Pine Bluff 15-50, Oral Roberst 16-45, Little Rock 27-32 and Arkansas State 27-28. The men's squad won three of their four matchups, beating UAPB 17-41, Oral Roberts 17-41 and Arkansas State 25-32. Little Rock outpointed UCA 27-28.
Individually, UCA junior Taylor Dunn finished third overall in a time of 18:26.12 over the 5K course. Junior Sara Shaw was sixth (18:52.89), followed by sophomore Erin Woodward in eighth (18:59.09). Senior Abby Foreman was ninth (19:01.94), while senior Layne Sargesonn was 14th (19:23.98), sophomore Kaylee Stewart was 21st (20:00.18), senior Madison Sellars was 28th (20:32.01), junior Skylar Lange was 33rd (20:52.06), senior Abigail Topham was 35th (21:03.38), senior Addy Swaim was 42nd (21:22.88) and freshman Jordan Brock was 52nd (22:06.74).
On the men's side, senior Preston Borg finished second in a time of 25:49.93 over the 8K course. Sophomore Jaron Hamilton was third (26:05.24), followed by his brother Jared Hamilton in fourth (26:13.68). Junior Julien Jeandree finished 13th (27:13.28), followed by freshman Shamal Sullivan in 31st (28:54.87) and freshman Josh Franco in 32nd (28:57.11).
The meet was UCA's final tuneup before the Southland Conference Championship on Oct. 27 in Abilene, Texas.Â
