CONWAY, Ark. _ The University of Central Arkansas added four new student-athletes to the men's golf program during the early signing period.
The four new Bears include: Brandon Lacasse from Chateauay, Quebec; Brett Daughdrill from Jonesboro, Ark.; Jordan Smith from Brasselton, Ga., and Davis Irving from Germantown, Tenn.
Lacasse played in the 2015 U.S. Junior and finished sixth in the 2015 Canadian Junior. He won the 2015 CN Ontario championship and finished second in the 2016 Quebec Junior Provincial. Lacasse won the 2017 NJCAA District 4 Preview and finished sixth in the 2017 Alabama Open.
Daughdrill was runnerup at the 2017 Class 6A state tournament and finished third in the 2017 High School Overall Tournament. He was medalist at the 2017 Hurricane Classic and was a three-time All-State selection and played on three state championship teams.
Smith played on team that won 2017 state championship in Georgia and was the 2016 high school regional champion. Smith ranked 24th in Georgia for 2018 graduates.
Irving was a three-time Tennessee state high school team champion and was the individual state champion as a sophomore, finished fifth as a junior and third during his senior year. Irving was the regional individual medalist as a freshman and finished second as a senior. He was the 2016 Coaches Award winner for leadership, work ethic and consistency, was the Pepsi Golfer of the Year in 2015 and was on the 2016 Transamerica scholastic honor roll.
