CONWAY, Ark. _ The UT Martin Skyhawks got a 3-0 complete-game victory from starter Rhett Fetner in non-conference action on Friday at a cold, windy Bear Stadium.
Fetner improved to 3-1 with the victory, allowing just four hits and striking out four. UCA starter Trent Gregsno was sharp as well, going a career-high seven innings, striking out eight, walking two and allowing just three runs.
The Skyhawks (5-7) score the only runs they would need in the first inning, plating two on Wil Lafollette's two-run double to right field. They added their third run in the fourth, with the help of one of UCA's two errors on the day.
The Bears managed just four hits, with senior shortstop R.J. Pearson picked up two of those. Junior left hander
Dillan Janak relieved Gregson in the eighth and struck out three of the seven batters he faced over the final two innings, allowing just one hit.
UTM finished with eight hits, two by designated hitter Jack Culumovic.
Weather permitting, UCA is set to face Creighton at 3 p.m. Saturday following a UTM-Creighton game at noon. The Bears and Skyhawks will then close the weekend with a 1 p.m. matchup on Sunday.
